Dumping Sucks!!
Ok so, I am officially allowed pureed foods, and I do really well with most foods, problem is I cant get enough protein with just food. (duh) so shakes it is.....
I have tried several different types of shakes...apparently....they dont like me. Anytime I drink a protein shake I DUMP BAD! omg! it pretty much omits all the fluids i would have gotten in prior to that, and honestly my pouch is so small i dont know where everything is coming from!
Any ideas people? I could really appreciate any way that I can get in the protein without shakes...or maybe with a different brand. (hopefully one that doesnt taste like ass) lol.
The kind I have now I really like (except for dumping from it) its 20g protein 3g sugar.
I mix it with 6oz of skim milk.

what do you feel when you say you "dump"? if you are not able to get down your fluids as you said. when you say your pouch is to small. i don´t think that`s dumping.
if you go to the toilet after drinking your protein. change the brand i had a problem with my favorit protein sake that i used to drank befor surgery. it had to much fiber in there. and you can try also with soy milk.
just take it easy and relax. i know its hard and its really sacary but you will be like 100% better in no time. hang in there
you can add unflavor protein to your food. like soups or even chilli. or things that you like. try to be creative.

That being said, I did become intolerant to milk after surgey and have had to switch to Lactaid milk. Maybe that's the problem? You could try soy milk also.

my doctor pretty much told me i could never drink regular milk again, because its just empty calories.
I mix my protein with water or a (unsweetened) rice or soy milk and water mix.
Regular Milk makes me VERY VERY sick. Almost immediately so...and i don't feel that the dumping is even worth tinkering around with the milk....
Try Water...it isn't that bad. I mix my chocolate protein with black coffee that i make and keep in a jug in the fridge. So it ends up tasting like a fakey iced mocha, plus i add an extra 1/4 scoop of protein to the shake...i have a VERY VERY hard time getting in all my protein via food ..so i have to bulk up my shakes a bit.
I use Myoplex 25g Choc.Fudge protein. Low carb and sugar. It's one of the few i can keep down.
Also, I recommend Jay Robb Protein, in either Strawberry or Chocolate.
